Where Did Our Time Go?

On Kawara, canvases from the ‘Today Series’ (1966 – 2014)

A man wakes up and as he goes through his day he realises that he is about the only one in the world who remembers the date or time. Everyone else has completely forgotten measurements of time. There are no such things such as weeks, hours or years anymore.

He tries to re-establish the calendar and the measurement of time through seconds, minutes and hours, but he realises that everyone seems a lot less stressed out after the eradication of time measurement and he decides not to.
